Can Joe Biden heal the rampant degree of polarization that’s currently plaguing our nation’s politics? “There is an element on the left side of the aisle that is every bit as hostile to their fellow citizens as there are on the right edges,” David tells Sarah on today’s episode. “But the thing is, Biden won the primary by specifically shunning that part of the Democratic base.” After their post-Inauguration Day reflections on Biden’s swearing in ceremony and the state of polarization in America, our hosts chat about the NRA’s bankruptcy status and Biden’s flurry of first-day executive orders.

Poor David. It's Lou Pan. First name Are San. Arsin Lupin has been around in French literature for a long time (I read some of it in high school). And I think you were right about Parler (Par Lay).
I know this is no where near the main point, David, but it is theorized that the Titanic would NOT have sunk had they steered INTO the iceberg. The reason the Titanic was thought to be unsinkable was because it had numerous compartments at the bottom of the ship that could be sealed off if they took on water. It is thought that the reason it sank (and sank so quickly) was because they turned. So instead of hitting the iceberg like a bonk on the nose (steering into the iceberg) they instead turned and scraped along the side like Lieutenant Laredo in Galaxy Quest thus rupturing the hull along most/all of the compartments such that the water could not be isolated to one or just a few. So if one is not in the Titanic steer away from the iceberg or stop forward momentum (also listen to messages about icebergs in the area), but if using the Titanic as your metaphor you may, in fact, WANT to steer into the iceberg.
Love the podcast and thank you to you and Sarah for the wonderful work you do.
